To keep your jewellery clean and in good shape you can take the following precautions;
- Take your jewellery off if you're going to be doing something that could knock or damage it (this can include anything where you may be using abrasives, or your jewellery may end up knocking against other metals)
- Avoid use of body lotions and creams, shampoos and soaps while your jewellery is on, this can lead to the silver oxidising and blackening (if this happens - do not fret, this can be cleaned)
How to clean your jewellery at home;
- You can simply mix a few drops of dishwashing liquid, or liquid soap in a bowl of warm water. Dip a clean microfiber or cotton cloth into the mixture and use it to remove any tarnishing from the surface.
- Silver cleaning liquids and foams can also be found in hardware stores and supermarkets, use these in conjunction with a microfiber or cotton cloth.
